Introduction: In today's class we will begin Unit 9 on the topic of media and its power to make a positive impact as well as create unintended negative consequences. We will read about the story of one of photo journalisms most famous portraits and also learn some of the backstory and discuss some ethical situtions related to it.
Warm Up: The Columbian Exchange
For our warm up activity, we will take a look at the Columbian Exchange, the movement of plants and animals from the Old World to the New World as a result of contact between Europe and the Americas beginning on October 12th 1492.
