Introduction: Hello everyone, and welcome to Week 4 of the course English V at Universidad Castro Carazo term IC 2024. In today's class we are starting Unit 2 and we will explore the topic of music, what it means to us, and how the ways we consume music have changed.

Goals: In today's class we will

• Describe your favorite music and why you like it.
• Use the present perfect to talk about past events and experiences

Guiding Questions: By the end of today's class you will be able to provide a thoughtful response to the following questions

• What are my favorite musical genres and how do they make me feel?
• How can the present perfect help me describe past events?

Task 1: Group Discussion

• Is music important to you? Why or why not? What kind of music do you prefer for different situations in your life?

• In the 1970's the government of Zambia in Africa passed a law that required 90% of music played on the radio to be music made in Zambia. How would you feel if a similar law was created in Costa Rica? Do you think that Costa Ricans should support national artists more?
